Chasing the target of 129 runs kept by Kolkata, the Bangalore team scored 132 runs for 7 wickets in 19.1 overs. Rutherford scored 28 runs while Shahbaz Ahmed scored 27 runs in 20 balls. For KKR, Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets while Tim Southee took 3 wickets. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine took a wicket each. This is Bangalore's first win this season. Earlier, Bangalore had scored 138 runs for 7 wickets, in response to which Kolkata won the match by scoring 139 runs for six wickets.

Kolkata's batsmen proved to be unsuccessful and the team's innings was reduced to 128 runs in 18.5 overs. Andre Russell scored the most runs for KKR. Russell contributed 25 runs in 18 balls hitting 3 sixes and 1 four. Apart from him, Umesh Yadav scored 18 runs in 12 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. Stars like Sam Billings (14), skipper Shreyas Iyer (13) and Sunil Narine (12) could not do much. RCB spinner Wanindu Hasaranga did an amazing job and took 4 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs. Apart from them, Akash Deep took 3 wickets but conceded 45 runs. Harshal Patel also got 2 wickets.
